DC Examiner - Maté turns two years old
Event: Second anniversary party for Maté, the lounge on K Street in Georgetown
Place: You guessed it: Maté
Goodies: Copious amounts of sushi and hot hors d’oeuvres, open bar from 7 to 10 p.m. (if you were on the list), cupcakes from Joshua Short of Buzz Bakery.
Seen: Tech moguls Michael Saylor and Rick Rickertsen, and a slew of other club owners, including Tony Hudgins and Sherif Abdalla of Play Lounge, David Chung of K Street, Fritz Hogan from The Deck, Ramzi Achi of Piola, Meliani Mustafa of Las Tapas and Mark Gundersen of IndeBleu.
Talk of the Night: The waitresses in super-skimpy outfits. The average age of male party-goers being significantly higher than that of the female party- goers.
